2018 course info:
The JMS Summer course is designed for both non-musicians looking to try out an instrument and for established musicians up to Grade 3 standard. The course is suitable for children aged 5 – 11.
- Infant Programme (age 5+6) ukulele / violin and the pBuzz!
- New Musicians (age 7-11) one instrument can be chosen to learn over the course of the week from the flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, French horn, tenor horn, baritone, trombone, tuba, violin, viola and cello, all instruments will be provided.
- Current Musicians (age 7-11) who have lessons on string, woodwind, brass, percussion and guitar instruments will play their own instruments and have the opportunity to try out some additional ones such as the violin and pBone!
Students will be treated to performances from visiting musicians along with the London Vegetable Orchestra who will lead some of the children in making new instruments and learning to play them – courgette trumpets, carrot recorders, and many more! The week will culminate in a spectacular performance for parents, family and friends on Friday 27th at 3.00pm.
The course will take place at Jersey College Preparatory School, the fee is £195 for the week (9am to 3pm Mon-Fri), students can arrive from 8.30am and can be collected up until 4pm.
